The PI (Progressive-Intuitive) Language Method™ is a patented technique to teach children foreign languages. Foreign words are strategically inserted into entertaining content (cartoons, software, audiotapes, interactive books, games and toys) in such a way that the meaning of each word is intuitively understood. The percentage of foreign content is sequentially increased in levels. There is no translation. Learning takes place in a progressive and natural manner while the child is being entertained. The PI Method does not reduce the entertainment value of the content, which is a critical factor. The success of any language program is directly related to the amount of exposure time to the target language. The more exposure, the more likely a successful outcome. Because the PI Language Method may be inserted into virtually any content, and because we are careful that we utilize content that is compelling to children, we create a fun environment in which children are entertained while they are progressively learning. There is no obvious lesson. A recent independent research study conducted with 4 and 5-year-old children concluded that a stunning 86% of the foreign words were comprehended and retained by the children. |
